The race for the N160 million grand prize in the Big Brother Naija ‘Show Ya Sef’ season has entered its final stretch, marking one of the show’s most unpredictable seasons, with no runaway favourite heading into finale week.
Following Sunday’s triple eviction, which saw Yusuf Muhammed-Awal, Isabella ‘Bells’ Imoh and Chimsom Chuka-Okoli leave the house, 10 housemates remain in contention.
The housemates heading into the finale are Aikou, Barry, Bluethopia, Flora, Keivo, Oyin, Ricky, Sheba, Temi Nkem and Tram, after Barry, holder of the Ultimate Veto Power, used his privilege to save all remaining housemates from eviction this week.
Despite the open field, three names have consistently emerged as the most likely winners: Temi Nkem, Aikou and Sheba.
The trio have survived multiple eviction scares, built strong fan bases outside the house and maintained relevance in both game and social conversations.
However, the journey to the final has not been straightforward. This season, several housemates tipped as early favourites have appeared at the bottom of voting polls or have been evicted entirely.
Tram and Bluethopia, once considered top contenders for the crown, have seen their stock drop significantly after repeatedly landing at the bottom of fan polls, pushing them out of the top contender bracket.
The same unpredictability has defined the entire season. Several possible winners predicted at the start of the show, Goddessa, Chimsom Chuka, Nomy and Neche, have already been evicted, and the latter took a voluntary exit, leaving fans questioning the direction of the season.
Many viewers argue that if the show is truly about intelligence and competitiveness, some of the evicted housemates should still be in the house.
Others counter that Big Brother Naija has always been a personality-driven contest, where relatability often trumps strategy.
With Barry and Keivo already securing finalist spots through Head of House wins and all 10 housemates guaranteed a place in the final week, the October 4 finale is now set for a showdown largely centred on Temi Nkem, Aikou and Sheba, unless another twist upends predictions yet again.
