BREAKING: 9 days after, presidency announces date of Tinubu’s return to Nigeria

President Bola Tinubu will return to Nigeria after his trip to Europe, the presidency confirmed today.

Special Adviser Information and Strategy to President Tinubu, Bayo Onanuga, has confirmed that the Nigerian President is currently in Europe.

Onanuga also confirmed in a post today that President Tinubu will return to Nigeria tomorrow, Wednesday, May 8.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, along with his aides, will return to Nigeria tomorrow from Europe,” Onanuga wrote on the X platform.

The Frontier reports that last Saturday was exactly six days after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu attended the World Economic Forum’s (WEF’s) Special Meeting on Global Collaboration, Growth and Energy for Development in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and he is yet to return to Nigeria.

The two-day forum, which aimed to help public and private sector leaders address shared global challenges, opened on Sunday, April 28 and ended on Monday, April 29, 2024.

The presidency had not released any statement on what was holding the president from returning to Nigeria.

This had led to speculations in some quarters that the president may have proceeded to Paris, France, where he had travelled to several times for medicals.
