The Board of Nigeria Customs Service has appointed four new Deputy Comptrollers General (DCGs) and Assistant Controllers General (ACGs) of Customs.
Adewale Adeniyi, Comptroller General of Customs (CGC), made the announcement which was contained in statement issued by Chief Superintendent of Customs, Abdullahi Maiwaida, National Public Relations officer of the Service yesterday.
According to the statement, two Deputy Comptrollers General of Customs (DCGs) and four Assistant Comptroller General of Customs (ACGs) were appointed and redeployed.
The statement further revealed that the new appointments followed the statutory retirement of some members of the management team of NCS.
“The Comptroller General of Customs (CGC), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, has approved key management appointments in acting capacities and redeployment to enhance strategic service delivery.
A breakdown of the appointments and redeployments are as follows:
DCG, BM Jibo, DCG, Finance Administration and Technical Services (FATS), DCG, OA Alajogun, Acting DCG, Enforcement, Inspection
and Investigation (EI&I).
Others are Acting ACG, IG Umar, Acting ACG Headquarters, Acting ACG, OA Salefu, Acting ACG Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Acting ACG, BA Makinde, Acting ACG Human Resources Development (HRD) and Acting ACG, T Bomodi, Acting ACG Enforcement, Inspection and Investigation (EI&I).
The CGC said, “These appointments are a testament to the officers’ exemplary services and dedication to the Nigeria Customs Service. The service remains committed to providing strategic leadership to ensure effective and efficient service delivery for optimum performance.
“While thanking the retired members of the management for their meritorious services, the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi congratulated newly appointed officers and charged them to redouble their efforts to ensure the Service achieves greater heights in its mandates of revenue generation, suppression of smuggling and trade facilitation”, the statement said.
