•An accident scene

No fewer than four people were burned to death and twenty others injured in a multiple-vehicle accident along the Osun/Ondo road in Ikeji-Arakeji, Ori-Ade Local Government Area of Osun State.

Investigations revealed that the accident, which occurred three days ago, involved a head-on collision between two buses and a truck, resulting in a fire that engulfed the vehicles, reports Sunday Tribune.

The blaze led to the tragic deaths of some passengers in the buses, while others sustained varying degrees of injuries.

The incident caused significant traffic congestion around the scene and left onlookers in mourning, with many sympathizers seen sobbing and weeping.

Among those involved in the accident were reportedly two corps members.

Speaking on the incident, the Osun State Commandant of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Taofeek Sokunbi, attributed the accident to overspeeding and reckless driving.

He stated, “The accident occurred three days ago. Four people died, and twenty were injured. The accident was caused by overspeeding and carelessness on the part of the driver.”

Sokunbi urged drivers to exercise caution on the roads to prevent such tragedies.
