Hunger protest: Activists disown Russian flag, seek release of members

•Hunger protest

Youth Rights Campaign (YRC) has dissociated itself from the Russian flag hoisted during August 1-10 #EndBadGovernanceinNigeria protest.

This followed arrest of its National Coordinator, Adaramoye Michael Lenin and Mosiu Sodiq by Department of State Security and National Intelligence Agency, reports The Nation.

At a news conference in Lagos, activists and members called for release of the duo and others, stressing they were not in support of Russia and that they didn’t fly Russian flag during the protest.

A statement by National Secretary, Francis Nwapa, urged government to release the duo as one of them, Sodiq, is ill and in need of medical attention.
