•Nigeria’s Super Eagles

Victor Osimhen has been left out of Nigeria’s squad for the doubleheader 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Libya.

In the list released yesterday, Head Coach Augustine Eguavoen omitted Osimhen due to injury concerns but named in-form Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman in the 23-man squad, reports Channels TV.

The list contains regulars like skipper William Ekong, winger Moses Simon; Alex Iwobi; Stanley Nwabali, Samuel Chukwueze, Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi, and Victor Boniface among others.

Nigeria will take on the Mediterranean Knights of Libya in a home-and-away tussle.

The three-time AFCON winners will host Libya at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Friday, October 11, before heading to Benghazi to take on the Knights at the Martyrs of Benina Stadium on Tuesday, October 15.
