Meet the Trapps: Tallest family in the world

The FrontierThe FrontierOctober 15, 2024 5301 Minutes read0

The Trapps, in 2020, was officially recognised as the tallest family in the world by the Guinness World Records.

On December 6, 2020, the GWR awarded the Trapp family from Esko, Minnesota, USA, as the tallest family in the world with an average height of 203.29cm (6ft 8 in) and no one has surpassed them since, reports AFP.

The family consisting of five members; Scott, Krissy, Savanna, Molly, and Adam, has a combined height that reaches halfway a tennis court.

The tallest of them, Adam Trapp, is now 23 years old and towers over his parents and siblings at 221.71 cm (7 feet 3 inches).

Next in height is 28-year-old Savanna Trapp-Blanchfield, standing at 203.6 cm (6 feet 8 inches).

Their younger sister, Molly Steede, is 25 years old and 197.26 cm (6 feet 6 inches) tall.

The parents are not far behind as their father, Scott, stands at 202.7 cm (6 ft 8 in), while their mother, Krissy, tagged the “shortest” in the family—still reaches 191.2 cm (6 ft 3 in). Scott, measures 202.7 cm (6 feet 8 i

Not surprisingly all three Trapp children excelled in athletics, with universities recruiting them to play volleyball or basketball.

While their impressive height sets them apart, it also presents some challenges, like having to duck through doorways, struggling to find clothes and shoes that fit, and facing difficulties driving or using public transport due to their long legs.

Despite these hurdles, the Trapps aim to inspire others who feel different or unusual.

They encourage people to look beyond appearances, emphasising that no physical trait should define a person’s worth.
