Operatives of the Katsina State Police Command have arrested a suspected terrorism financier, Aminu Hassan, for allegedly aiding armed bandits terrorising Danmusa Local Government Area and its environs.

The Command’s spokesman, Abubakar Sadiq, disclosed this in a statement yesterday.

Sadiq, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, said the 25-year-old suspect hailed from Dundubus village in Daja Local Government Area of the state, reports Channels TV.

He stated that the arrest is part of the major breakthrough recorded by the Command in the fight against terrorism, kidnapping, and banditry in the state.

The suspect was nabbed during a routine patrol along Yan-tumaki and Kankara highway on November 19 in Danmusa LGA of the state.

He was said to be in possession of two pairs of military uniform neatly concealed in a black polythene bag.

In the course of investigation, three (3) more suspects, namely, (1) Lawal M Ahmad, age 29, (2) Isma’il Dalhatu, m, age 24, all of Basawa quarters, in Sabon Gari, Zaria LGA, Kaduna, (3) Shafi’u Adamu, m, age 28 of Danjaba village, Soba LGA, Kaduna State, were also arrested in connection with the case.

Exhibits recovered from the suspects include 14 pairs of military uniforms and one police uniform, which are reasonably believed to be intended for delivery to the armed bandits for their criminal operations.

Police spokesman noted that the suspects had during the interrogation, confessed to the commission of the offence, adding that, they would soon be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.

He said, the State Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Abubakar Musa, while urging members of the public to continue to provide useful information that can aid in the fight against armed banditry in the state, commended the operatives for their professionalism and dedication to duty, which led to the successful arrest of all the suspects involved.

Similarly, the Command also arrested seven suspected rapists on November 25 following the receipt of a report on their nefarious activities at Kaita Divisional Police Headquarters, Katsina.

The suspects, were said to have lured four minors within the age of 13-14, into the house of one of the suspects, where they usually have unlawful carnal knowledge of them.

The suspects, Salisu Ibrahim, Sabiu Abdulkarim, Nuhu Halliru, Rabe Malam, Hamza Abdullahi, Iliyasu Ibrahim and Idris abdullahi are all from Kaita LGA of the state.
