•Late Ezeife

The United Igbo Elders Forum Worldwide, Anambra Chapter, has described the first civilian governor of new Anambra State, the late Chief Chukwuemeka Ezeife, also known as Okwadike Igboukwu, as a courageous and vigorous leader.with unwavering commitment to the Igbo cause.

The forum in statement issued yesterday by its Director of Corporate Communications, Ezenwa Sam Ekpe, said Ezeife was a fearless and forthright leader, like the late Chief Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, the Ezeigbo gburugburu.

The United Igbo Elders Council Worldwide, under the leadership of retired Supreme Court Justice Anthony Iguh, expressed its deep regret and shared heartfelt condolences with the family, friends, and all those touched by Ezeife’s remarkable life.

Members of the Board of Trustees of the forum include Chief Emeka Anyaoku, Chief S N Okeke, Archbishop Valerie Okeke, and so on.

The forum extolled his immense contributions to the struggle for equity and justice, acknowledging his unique role in the marginalised people of Nigeria’s fight for a brighter future.

“His tireless efforts in defending the rights and interests of the Igbo community earned him the admiration and respect of all who knew him.

“Throughout his lifetime, Chief Ezeife served as Chairman of Imeobi Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Abuja branch, leading crucial delegations in the fight for equity and justice for his people. Even at the risk of personal sacrifice, he stood fearlessly at the forefront to champion the causes that mattered most to the Igbo community,” the statement read in part.
