How PDP can end APC reign – Oyo Speaker

The FrontierThe FrontierJuly 15, 2025 1081 Minutes read0

The Oyo State House of Assembly Speaker, Right Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, today stated that if the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) gets its act together, it can end the reign of the ruling All Progressives Party (APC).

Ogundoyin stated this while speaking at the July edition of the monthly live programme of the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS), Ibadan, tagged the ‘Guest of the Month’.

The Speaker also addressed the developments in the political arena, particularly the alliance of some politicians on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Ogundoyin said, ”As far as the PDP can get its acts right, it will be a party to beat. The day the PDP gets it right will be the end of the ruling party.”

The speaker said the PDP needed a fresh structure. ”The party needs a fresh convention and structure. We need more committed members holding positions,” he said.

He also commiserated with the family of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari over his demise.

Ogundoyin, who is the Chairman of the Conference of Speakers, urged those left behind to make an impact in the country.

He said, “I commiserate with the family of the late President Muhammadu Buhari. He was a man of high discipline. He was determined to achieve more for Nigeria. He made his mark. It is now left for those of us left behind to pick up the mantle of leadership”.

He also commiserated with the government and the people of Ogun State over the passing of the Awujale of Ijebu land, Oba Sikiru Adetona.
