Match names on certificate before camp – NYSC warns Corps members

The FrontierThe FrontierApril 7, 2026 720 Minutes read0

•Youth Corps members

The National Youth Service Corps has issued a strong reminder to all Prospective Corps Members ahead of the upcoming orientation camp.

According to the notice obtained from its X today, NYSC noted that any prospective corps member whose name as it appears on their certificate or statement of result, does not match exactly with the name uploaded on the NYSC portal must immediately contact their institution to ensure the names tally perfectly.

NYSC officials have emphasised that even minor differences in spelling, order of names, missing middle names, or extra initials will not be tolerated during camp registration, reports The PUNCH.

The post read, “Important Notice: Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) whose names in their certificates or statement of results is not exactly the same with the name uploaded to the NYSC portal should contact their Institutions to ensure the name tallies before reporting to camp.”

This notice has been issued in various batches over the years because many PCMs face issues at camp due to name mismatches.
