The Davido Supporters Group International (DSGI) has officially rebranded, unveiling a new name, Davido International Supporters Group (DIS G).

The announcement was made yesterday, during a media interaction in New York, USA.

The convener of the fan club, Ambassador (Rev.) Chukwudi Chuck Eke, said the name change reflects a more dynamic and globally resonant identity for the group.

According to Amb. Eke, “the new name is more befitting and carries multidimensional elements that align with our vision as a global fan movement.”

He also noted that the rebrand introduces a distinctive and relatable acronym, DIS G, which carries both cultural and symbolic significance.

“In pidgin parlance, ‘DIS G’ can be interpreted as ‘This G’ or ‘This Guy.’ It sparks curiosity, representing both the global community of supporters and Davido himself,” Eke added.

Amb. Eke, who is also a songwriter, revealed that the inspiration behind the acronym led to the creation of a musical project titled ‘DIS G’.

He disclosed that the concept for the song emerged organically, prompting him to develop lyrics centered around the new identity of the fan club.

Providing further insight, Eke confirmed that the melody for the song has already been produced, with work currently underway on the accompanying music video.

Furthermore, the project is intended as a tribute to Davido and expected to resonate widely with fans across the globe, Eke said.

“This song, which celebrates Afrobeats icon Davido, is envisioned to become the official anthem of the fan club, with strong global appeal,” Eke added, revealing that the track is performed by his protégé, Master BG, whom he described as a “multi-talented singer, dancer, and actor.”

The song is being developed in multiple versions, including gospel, reggae, and Afrobeats interpretations.

Looking ahead, Eke expressed optimism that the music video will be completed and released before the end of summer 2026.

However, the Davido International Supporters Group (DIS G) continues to position itself as a leading global fan community dedicated to promoting the music, brand, and cultural impact of Davido.
