According to the court’s Director of Information, Dr. Catherine Oby Christopher, the late Justice Yunusa died on May 21 “after a brief illness.”

The late Justice Yunusa served in the court’s Kano division until his death, reports The Nation.

Part of a statement by the court’s spokesperson reads: “His Lordship passed away at the State Medical Centre, Kano, and has since been laid to rest in accordance with Islamic rites.

“Hon. Justice M. N. Yunusa was a distinguished jurist who served with dedication, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to the administration of justice.

“His immense contributions to the Bench and the legal profession will be fondly remembered and greatly cherished by his colleagues, members of the outer Bar, court staff and all who had the privilege of working with him.

“The Chief Judge, judges, management and staff of the Federal High Court extend their heartfelt condolences to members of his immediate family and pray that the Almighty God grants them the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
