Soon-to-be Real Madrid President Florentino Pérez has reached an agreement with French center-back Ibrahima Konaté and the defender will be a madridista once Pérez wins the upcoming elections, according to a report from Onda Cero’s Alberto Pereiro.
Konaté has become a free agent after his previous deal with Liverpool expired this summer, and while he was on Madrid’s radar for quite some time, it looked as if Los Blancos were ready to move on and look elsewhere.
However, Real Madrid have decided to add serious depth to their defensive line and Konaté could be the first of two likely signings for that spot, according to AS.
The French defender hasn’t been all that impressive in quite some time, so he probably should not be considered a starter in the Spanish capital.
