The FrontierThe FrontierJune 23, 2026 381 Minutes read0

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has presented certificates of return to winners of the by-elections held across six states on Saturday.

The elections were held for senatorial offices in Enugu, Nasarawa North, Ondo South, and Rivers South-East and also for the Dawakin kudu/Warsaw federal constituency in Kano State and the Zuru State constituency in Kebbi State, reports Channels TV.

The INEC chairman, Joash Amupitan, was represented by Supervising National Commissioner May Agbamuche-Mbu for Rivers State, who was supervising the presentation of the certificates.

In her remarks, Agbamuche-Mbu congratulated the winners and urged them to serve their constituents diligently, saying the most important responsibility is to represent the people well.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has issued Certificates of Return to winners of the bye-elections held on Saturday, June 20, 2026 across Rivers, Enugu, Nasarawa, Ondo and Kano states.

Agbamuche told the gathering that the electoral umpire will also be presenting the certificate of return to the governor-elect for Ekiti State at the INEC office in Ado-Ekiti and that of the Zuru State Constituency at the state capital, Birnin Kebbi.

National commissioners representing the various constituencies took turns presenting the certificates to the elected candidates, officially recognising them as the duly returned winners of their respective elections.
