The court instituted president of the Lagos State chapter of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Solomon Ogbonna, has charged Igbo people in the state to forget the grievances and wrongs of the past and speak with one voice.
Speaking in an interview with our correspondent, he said that dwelling on wrongs of the past will hold the people back and prevent them from moving forward, reports Daily Independent. He argued that peace is a necessary condition for development, adding that dwelling on past will not be in anyone’s interest.
Ogbonna disclosed that he has been mandated by Chief John Mbata, the president general of Ohanaeze Ndigbo (Worldwide), to conduct elections to fill the vacuum that will be left when his term expires in April.
He called on interested persons who want participate in the elections to participate in the elections to indicate their interest by buying the necessary forms.
He assured that the elections will be free and fair.
