Man alerts Police to wrong use of wife’s photo as spouse of a bandit

•Terrorist Aliero with wife and mother

A Suleja-based man, identified as Ibrahim Abdullahi, has alerted the Police Command over the alleged use of his wife’s picture as the purported spouse of a notorious bandit arrested in Madina, Saudi Arabia.

Miffed by a TikTok post video circulated online, Abdullahi complained how his wife’s picture was wrongly used as the wife of the bandits’ leader, reports The Guardian.

“I couldn’t understand how a photo that I snapped with my phone and later shared with my wife got to the public domain, as she doesn’t use any social media platform, apart from WhatsApp,’’ he lamented.

He said he was upset since realising the mix-up, fearing that people might mistake his wife for the arrested individual and resort to jungle justice against her.

Consequently, he decided to report the matter to the police.

Saudi Arabian officials arrested the wife and mother of Ado Aliero, a prominent figure among Nigeria’s armed bandits, in the city of Medina.

The two women were reportedly living under false identities when they were captured during an intelligence-led operation linked to a network associated with insurgents operating in Northwest Nigeria.

Ado Aliero, known for orchestrating kidnappings and violent attacks in Zamfara and neighbouring states, is on Nigeria’s list of most wanted criminals.
