Ondo guber election: Labour Party deputy gov candidate, Olabisi Adu hails Appeal Court judgment sacking factional candidate

The FrontierThe FrontierNovember 13, 2024 1832 Minutes read0

The deputy governorship candidate of Labour Party in the governorship elections of Ondo State holding on Saturday, November 16, Dame Olabisi Adu Okunniyi, has hailed the judgment of the Appeal Court in Abuja presided over by Justice H A Barka, which today upturned the previous ruling of the federal high court and sacked Olusola Ebiseni as the governorship candidate of the Labour Party.

The judgement was today read by Justice A I Banjoko, a member of the three-man panel, which include Justice A B Mohammed.

In a terse statement issued today by her media office, Dame Olabisi Adu Okunniyi said the judgment is a victory for the rule of law and all true Obi-dients, who infused positive energy into the Labour Party pre 2023 general elections.

Olabisi Adu vowed that impostors and political marauders will not be allowed to pervert and circumvent the course of the historical struggle of founders of the 3rd Force Obi-dient Movement in Nigeria.

The Ijare – Akure born daughter of Late Chief Muyide Adu, a progressive political leader, former super permanent secretary in Ondo State and chairman of the defunct Owena Motel, said it is time for all indigenes of the state to troop out to vote the mass prosperity agenda of the Labour Party as Nigerians are tired of the heightening poverty in country.

“The Labour Party government in Ondo State shall be inclusive, transparent, accountable and consultative, as every policy decision of our government shall be embraced from a bottom-up approach in ensuring that the Ondo people truly own their government and elected government officials are true servant-leaders to marshall the mass prosperity of the Ondo people,” she said in a statement this evening signed by her media aide Olubori Obafemi, and made available to The Frontier.

Olabisi Adu, a grassroots political influencer also extended Labour Party’s hands of fellowship to other political parties in Ondo State to align with herself and Dr Ayo Olorunfemi, the Governorship Candidate of the Labour Party in returning governance in Ondo State back to the masses, youths and good people of Ondo State, asserting that the Labour Party is open to any ideological electoral alliance that will deliver the state from the clutches of the predators of the common people in Ondo State.

The Labour Party Campaign Team is expected to round off its political campaign tomorrow in Akure, Ondo State capital, after a grassroots door-to-door engagements with voters in the sixteen Local Government Areas of the state, where the party leadership is expected to address the good people of Ondo State on its agenda for the state.
