Police in Adamawa have arrested a 32-year-old sex worker, Riyanatu Musa, for allegedly stabbing a barman, Yohanna Musa, to death over a ₦200 debt in Yola.

According to police spokesperson Suleiman Nguroje, the incident occurred following a dispute over the balance of liquor the suspect purchased from the deceased, reports Saturday Vanguard.

Nguroje stated, “She confessed committing the heinous crime by saying she had collected dry gin known as big ben and Yahoo from the deceased, and promised to pay the following day after paying the sum of N1,500 remaining the balance of N200, before engaging themselves in a fight resulting her stabbing him with a knife in the chest to death.”

Nguroje said the state Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, had ordered a thorough investigation into the case while warning residents against taking the law into their own hands.
