•UNICAL SUG President, Comrade Blessing Alims

The first female President of the Student Union Government (SUG), University of Calabar (UNICAL), Comrade Blessing Alims, has appointed 50 individuals as advisers in her administration.

Blessing Alims, who gained widespread attention on social media for being the first female president in the university’s 49-year history, announced the unprecedented appointments shortly after her election in June 2024, reports Nigerian Tribune.

This decision has sparked reactions on social media regarding her leadership style.
