Christmas is a season to spread love and celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Various means are devised across the world to mark it. Some places are so keen on festivities that they have taken it to another level. This article discusses towns in America named after Christmas, reports Nigerian Tribune.

1. North Pole, New York

North Pole is a small town in America named after Christmas in 1949. It is home to one of America’s first theme parks, Santa’s Workshop. This is a place in New York where families visit to enjoy their weekends, especially in December.

2. Rudolph, Wisconsin

Rudolph is a town founded in 1960. It is known for hosting annual Christmas events. This town provides a full festive celebration as Christmas cards are stamped at the Rudolph Post Office.

3. North Pole, Alaska

North Pole in Alaska, United States, was founded in 1953. It was named by a real estate development company that aimed to attract people for holiday business. This town features Santa’s house and Christmas decorations all year round.

4. Bethlehem, Pennsylvania

This town was founded in 1741 and named “Bethlehem” on Christmas Eve. Bethlehem, referred to as “Christmas City,” holds an annual Christmas market called “Christkindlmarkt,” inspired by the Germans.

5. Christmas Cove, Maine

Christmas Cove is a town founded in 1765, situated at the coast of Maine. It is famous for hosting tourists for a wonderful and heart-warming yacht experience.

6. Noel, Missouri

Noel is located in the southwest area of Missouri. Noel, one of the towns named after Christmas, bears the nickname “The Christmas City,” created as a holiday postmark in the 1940s. Thousands of people send season greetings through Noel’s post office yearly.

7. Christmas, Michigan

“Christmas” is a community in the upper peninsula of Michigan, America. This is a place where every town is committed to the festive season. Christmas was founded in 1938. It was an initiation of a factory owner.

8. Eggnog, Utah

Eggnog, a drink made during the yuletide, is now a tradition and the name of a community founded in 1979.

9. Dasher, Georgia

Dasher, founded in 1893, is located in the southern end of Georgia. This town celebrates the Christmas holiday glamorously by holding carols.

10. St. Marys, Georgia

St. Marys is a coastal city in Georgia that got its name from the St. Marys River. Christmas is held annually at the waterfront; gifts are packed for children.
