14 suspected traffic robbers arrested on Lekki–Epe expressway Lagos

The FrontierThe FrontierDecember 30, 2025 1081 Minutes read0

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 14 suspected traffic robbers along the Lekki–Epe Expressway over the past two weeks, following increasing complaints from motorists about the theft of vehicle parts during traffic congestion.

The arrests were carried out by operatives of the Tactical Squad, Elemoro, at different locations along the busy corridor, reports The Nation.

The command’s spokesperson, CSP Abimbola Adebisi, disclosed this in a statement posted on X today.

“Fourteen suspected traffic robbers have been arrested by the Tactical Squad, Elemoro, within the last two weeks at different locations along the Lekki–Epe Expressway,” Adebisi said.

She described the operation as “a clear demonstration of the Command’s commitment to improving security and protecting road users along the corridor,” while urging residents to remain vigilant.

“See something, say something,” she added.

The arrests come amid heightened public concern over traffic-related robberies in the Lekki area, particularly the theft of car parts while vehicles are stuck in congestion

Recently, tech influencer Fisayo Fosudo raised an alarm on social media, lamenting repeated attacks on his vehicle while stuck in traffic.

In a post on X, he said parts of his car had been stolen multiple times, with the most recent incident involving the removal of his windshield cover.

His complaint triggered reactions from other motorists, many of whom shared similar experiences. One user, identified as #fimiletoks, warned that certain vehicle models are frequently targeted by criminals operating along the expressway.

According to him, “If you drive the RX 350 2017 – 2022 model, you are a target at night on Lekki – Epe. You will replace the side mirrors and that black cover behind the mirrors every other month. One mirror costs over 100k, and it’s in high demand. They disguise themselves as beggars or hawkers.”
