A total of 39 aspirants are to contest at the primary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Edo State.
State Chairman of the party, Tony Alile, who stated this in an interview, said the primary would take place in 192 wards across the state, reports The Nation.
Alile said there would be no consensus candidate even as he assured that the primary would be peaceful.
He said, “We have candidates in all three senatorial seats, the nine House of Representatives seats and the 24 House of Assembly seats.
“There are no consensus candidates in our party. Collation of results will be done at our office. We are adopting direct primaries.
“Our members should come out en masse to exercise their franchise. We do not envisage anything bad, and the primaries will be peaceful.”
