Elon Musk, 4 other top celebrities with Autism

The FrontierThe FrontierApril 3, 2024 3952 Minutes read0

Autism has not in any way affected these celebrities from being the best they can be. It’s a condition they’ve embraced and are proud to discuss with anyone who wants to know more about it, reports Nigerian Tribune.

World Autism Day reminds everyone how important it is to show love and kindness to those with autism. It is never to denigrate or make them feel unacceptable. They are just like any blessed, beautiful human beings out there.

The United Nations set aside April 2 to educate everyone on autism. It is also a day to promote human rights and fundamental freedom for all autistic people; to ensure they have equal rights as others.

Among other ways to celebrate autistic people, this explores some popular celebrities with Autism:

1. Elon Musk

Elon is one of the leading inventors and businessmen alive. He is also one of the wealthiest people on earth. As a goal-driven person, Musk has been able to build problem-solving technological companies. Elon revealed in an interview of having “Asperger’s Syndrome” — this is a form of autism that shows non-verbal communication and difficulty in social interaction.

2. Wentworth Miller

If you’ve watched the famous series “Prison Break” by Fox, Wentworth Miller won’t sound strange to you. He is an American-British actor and screenwriter with numerous award nominations. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Miller was diagnosed with autism. A spectrum disorder typically appears in early childhood but can resurface later in life, and it can be more challenging according to the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH).

3. Sia Kate Isabelle

Sia is an Australian singer and songwriter. She started with a local jazz band. Isabelle is a Grammy award nominee and has many studio albums. She opened up about being diagnosed with autism after depicting autism in a 2020 film.

4. Anthony Hopkins

Anthony Hopkins is a British actor, proficient in both on-stage and screen performances. He has received numerous awards such as the Academy Awards and BAFTA awards. He trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London after graduating from Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in 1957. Just like Elon, he was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome even though he considered it as a “fancy label”.

5. Susan Boyle

Susan Boyle is a Scottish singer — who rose to fame after appearing in 2009 Britain Got Talent. Her debut album is one of the best-selling albums of the 21st century. She is the first female artist to have three successive albums in number one, in less than two years. According to Susan, she now understands herself better after being diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome.
