Edo shooting: Police threaten to declare invited persons wanted

The FrontierThe FrontierJuly 22, 2024 2160 Minutes read0

The Edo State Police Command has vowed to declare persons it invited over the killing of a police officer in Benin City last week wanted if they do not show up.

A police inspector attached to the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for Edo, Monday Okpebholo was killed in the state capital on Thursday, reports Channels TV.

While the Commissioner of Police in Edo Funsho Adegboye said invitations had been sent to the persons wanted for questioning, they are yet to show up.

Briefing journalists in Benin City yesterday, regarding the progress made so far in the investigation, he said they would be declared wanted if they fail to honour the invite.

The police commissioner also affirmed the command’s respect for Okpebholo.

He apologised for the inappropriate manner the APC governorship candidate was addressed in the press briefing following the shooting incident.
