AFCON: It’s victory or nothing against Benin Republic – Okoye

The FrontierThe FrontierSeptember 6, 2024 2290 Minutes read0

•Maduka Okoye

Maduka Okoye has emphasised the significance of the Super Eagles commencing their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying journey with a victory.

The Super Eagles are set to host the Benin Republic at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo tomorrow.

The three-time African champions have secured just one win in their recent five matches.

Okoye stressed the importance of the Super Eagles giving their all to secure a win against the Cheetahs.

“It’s important we win because this is an important AFCON qualifier,” the Udinese goalkeeper told reporters.

“We have to be at our best and play at our highest level.

“What is most important is the victory for the team and Nigeria.”
