•Protesters in Ibadan

The nationwide protest scheduled for Tuesday, October 1, was held in Ibadan.

The October 1 protest is tagged “EndBadGovernance“ in protests of the economic hardship experienced in the country, reports Nigerian Tribune.

The protesters gathered at the Mokola Roundabout area of Ibadan, where the demonstration is currently ongoing.

The Oyo State coordinator, Take It Back Movement, Solomon Emiola lamented hardship being faced by citizens of the country.

He stated that the 64th Independence anniversary is not worth celebrating considering the current state of the nation after 64 years of independence.

According to him, hike in the price of petroleum and current rate of Naira to dollar, hike in electricity fees hike in school fees must be reverted in a bid to ease the pain of Nigerians.

He warned security agents against assault of protesters.

He said; “We are here today in protest against hardship faced by Nigerians, we believe Independence is not worth celebrating considering the hardship faced by Nigerians.

“We hereby request for reversal on hiked price of petroleum, school fee of public universities, and electricity. While we also call on the government to find solutions to our refinery which has been abandoned by our government.”
