Reconcile aggrieved contestants – Gani Adams charges new Ijeshaland monarch

The FrontierThe FrontierJanuary 1, 2025 2861 Minutes read0

•Gani Adams

Aareonakakanfo of Yorubaland, Chief Gani Adams, has charged the new Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Adesuyi Haastrup, to bring close to himself all contestants, who may still be displeased with his emergence as the new paramount ruler of Ijesaland.

Gani Adams, who stated this in his congratulatory message to Oba Haastrup signed by his Media Assistant, Kehinde Adefemi, obtained in Osogbo today, declared that the monarch has the capacity to transform his domain.

“Now that the contest is over, I implore Your Majesty to extend the olive branch to all aggrieved contestants, cement all cracks, and bring everybody together for the arduous task of continuing the trajectory of progress that hallmarked the tenure of your predecessor, His Imperial Majesty, the late Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran II,” the statement read in parts.

While lauding Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and the good people of Ijeshaland on Oba Haastrup’s ascension to the throne, he prayed to God and the Yoruba ancestors to protect and preserve the new monarch.

He also prayed for the new monarch’s long life and good health and for his reign to record phenomenal success, peace, prosperity, and joy for his people and Yorubaland.

He expressed belief in Oba Haastrup’s capacity to transform his domain, adding that Ijesaland remains an important and strategic part crucial to the progress and overall good of Yorubaland that cannot be left in limbo.

“You can transform Ijeshaland, and I am confident that you will bring to bear your wealth of experience as an astute administrator and a highly successful businessman and your extensive connections and powerful networks across the world to continue the development of Ijesaland for the good of all its citizens and non-citizens as well.

“Therefore, as your majesty settles down on the throne, we urge you to show love to your subjects and work closely with fellow Obas, not only in the Osun State Council of Obas, where you are the Deputy Chairman but also across Yorubaland.

“As the Aare Onakakanfo of Yoruba land, I promise to do all within my power to support your majesty and ensure your success on the throne as we work together for the unity, peace, and advancement of Yorubaland and Nigeria as a whole,” Gani Adams said.
