Why Burna Boy, Cubana Chief Priest are trending on X in Nigeria

•Cubana Chief Priest and Burna Boy

Grammy Award winner Burna Boy and Showbiz impresario, Cubana Chief Priest, are trending on X in Nigeria due to a heated exchange between the two.

How it stated

The rift began when Burna Boy referred to Cubana Chief Priest as the “Owerri Rick Ross” in a post, which the latter took as a jab, reports Saturday Tribune.

Cubana Chief Priest responded by alleging that Burna Boy owes a London jeweler money and shared a video of Burna Boy asking him for cake in 2018.

The video was meant to imply that Cubana Chief Priest was wealthy even before Burna’s rise to fame.

Burna Boy fired back, claiming he pays for everything in cash and doesn’t owe anyone money.

The exchange has sparked a flurry of reactions on social media, with some users defending Burna Boy’s humble beginnings and others criticising Cubana Chief Priest’s response.

The heated exchange has left many netizens wondering what prompted the sudden feud between the two celebrities.

As at the time of filing this report, Burna Boy has garnered 113K mentions while Cubana Chief Priest has 75K mentions, and related hashtags like #OwerriRickyrozay are also trending on X in Nigeria.
