Ogun Police warn of rise in missing persons

The FrontierThe FrontierJanuary 8, 2025 2671 Minutes read0

The Ogun Police Command has observed an unprecedented increase in reports of missing individuals across all age groups in the state.

It also expressed grave concern that while only a small fraction of these missing individuals are located, a significant number regrettably do not return home, reports The Nation.

The command however assured it was taking proactive steps and committed to raising public awareness about the disturbing trend and urged residents to prioritise their safety by maintaining a heightened sense of security to avoid becoming a victim.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Ogun Police Command, CSP Omolola Odutola, who raised the alarm last night in a release stated that the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, has outlined measures to keep the residents informed about this pressing issue.

Odutola stated that following insights gained from rescued individuals, the command advised parents to refrain from using commercial transportation services for their children with unfamiliar persons.

She urged the youth to activate digital communication and sharing features on their mobile devices while traveling, especially during moments of distress.

“It is crucial to inform the public that the control room can be contacted at 09164859299, and the Police Public Relations Department can be reached at 09159578888. The Command is also active on all social media platforms as follows: Twitter: @OgunPoliceNG

Instagram: @Ogunpolice_ng and Facebook: @ogunstatepolicecommand,” she stated.
