Army reacts to explosion outside Abuja cantonment

The FrontierThe FrontierMay 27, 2025 1730 Minutes read0

Authorities of the Nigerian Army, yesterday allayed the fear of residents of the Federal Capital Territory over an explosion that happened in Abuja.

Recall that there was an explosion at a bus stop in front of the popular Mogadishu Cantonment in Abuja along Abuja-Nyanga road in the early hours of the day, reports Daily Trust.

The army specifically said the situation had been brought under control, adding that there is no cause for alarm.

Witnesses had disclosed to our correspondent that a suspected suicide bomber was reportedly killed when the explosion happened.

It was learnt the development led many passers-by, bystanders and other road users to scamper for safety during the incident.

Reacting on its official X handle, the army said, “Explosion at Bus stop opposite Mogadishu Cantonment Abuja. Situation Under Control. Details Later.”
