INSIDE AKWA IBOM TODAY: Governor Umo Eno a political problem solver – Former Minister Don Etiebet

UDUAK IKPATT, Uyo reporting

Elderstatesman and All Progressives Congress (APC) bigwig, Chief Don Etiebet, CON has showered encomiums on Governor Umo Eno, describing him as “a rare political problem solver” with the unique capacity to unite Akwa Ibom State.

The glowing endorsement came during a high-profile stakeholders meeting convened by Governor Eno at the Government House Banquet Hall yesterday, which brought together top brass of the State’s APC leadership in an atmosphere of political camaraderie.

Etiebet, an eighty-year-old former Minister of Petroleum Resources and founding father of Akwa Ibom politics, spoke with the weight of decades of political experience and leadership as he analyzed Governor Eno’s leadership style.

“What we are witnessing under Governor Umo Eno is a new paradigm in political leadership and service to the people, as he has turned the hitherto branded “atomistic society, perpetually at war with one another” – apologies to Professor Ayandele, former VC of former Cross River State, into a “stable compound” – State of peace, harmony and tranquility in just two years in office”, the respected statesman declared.

The APC leader, particularly, praised the governor’s inclusive approach to governance, according respect, recognition and reward to all citizens of the State across all party lines and ethnicity, noting that his actions have melted away all past political tensions and apprehensions in the State.

He urged the governor to keep on his peace building efforts as “there are still some cleavages” in the political landscape that need some cement glue to bind them together”.

The meeting, which lasted several hours, saw other APC leaders echoing Etiebet’s sentiments.
