The Lagos State Government, through the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education and State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), has announced that the 2025 Universal Basic Education (UBE) Placement Test via Continuous Assessment Scores (CAS) for Primary Six pupils will take place on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. prompt.

Mrs. Abisola Dokunmu-Adegbite, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, stated in a statement issued today by the Public Affairs Officer, Lagos State Examinations Board ( LSEB), Onadipe Opebere and made available to newsmen, quoting.

Mrs. Dokunmu-Adegbite stated that the initiative underscored the State Government’s commitment to providing quality and accessible Education, reports Daily Independent.

She emphasised that the Placement Test “is specifically for Primary Six pupils in public and approved private primary schools in Lagos State.

The Test, according to the statement “is a crucial step in the transition process by primary six pupils to Government Junior Secondary Schools across the State.

The permanent secretary, therefore, charged the affected school representatives to ensure that they accompany their pupils to the designated examination centres across the State.

She emphasised the importance of cooperation between all stakeholders to ensure that all eligible pupils participate successfully in the assessment.

“The Ministry remains committed to the ‘Leave No Child Behind’ principle, the Placement Test, using Continuous Assessment Scores (CAS) and Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheets, as these provide a fair and objective evaluation of pupils’ cognitive abilities,” she enthused.

Mrs. Dokunmu-Adegbite, however, urged the affected candidates to approach the examination with seriousness, confidence, and thorough preparation, emphasising its significance in their academic journey.

The Ministry therefore, expressed gratitude to parents, guardians, and school administrators for the unalloyed support in ensuring a seamless and effective learning experience for all pupils.
