Media personality Toke Makinwa, who welcomed her first child, Yakira Eliana, in August 2025, recently held the dedication ceremony for her daughter at The Logic Church in Lekki, Lagos.
Dressed in a white customised gown alongside her daughter, Makinwa arrived at the church in a black Rolls-Royce and was celebrated by a large gathering of friends and family who accompanied her to the altar, reports Saturday PUNCH.
After the church service, a reception was held at the Landmark Event Centre to mark the baby’s dedication. Makinwa dazzled in a pink Tubo-designed dress and could not contain her joy as she took to the dance floor.
One of the highlights of the event was her emotional dance with popular singer Tiwa Savage, with whom she shared heartfelt moments.
Her radiant expression throughout the party reflected her happiness and fulfilment as a new mother. She was also seen dancing with other guests, including her close friend, Farouk Umar.
The post-dedication videos sparked conversations online. While some speculated that Umar might be the father of Makinwa’s daughter, others commended him for his unwavering support over the years.
Speaking at the reception, Makinwa expressed gratitude for the new phase of her life, saying her daughter had given her a new identity.
The event also doubled as an early birthday celebration, as Makinwa turned a year older on November 3. Guests later sang a special birthday song in her honour.
The ceremony was attended by several celebrities, including Funke Akindele, Toyin Abraham, Rita Dominic, Nancy Isime, and socialites such as Shade Okoya and Olori Sekinat Elegushi, wife of the Elegushi of Ikateland.
