How my wife went missing in Abuja, found in Sokoto

The FrontierThe FrontierNovember 3, 2025 1851 Minutes read0

Mallam Jibrin Rabiu, whose wife, Khadijat Ado, went missing last Thursday from their Life Camp house in Abuja, has narrated that the woman was found in Sokoto the following day.

In an interview with our correspondent yesterday evening, Rabiu said that when he returned home last Thursday, he discovered his wife was missing, reports Daily Trust.

He said he immediately called a friend who is a police officer, who, in turn, alerted the police in Life Camp, Gwarinpa, and other divisions after the initial search failed.

He said the CCTV camera at their home captured his wife calmly walking out of the house until she moved beyond the camera’s range.

According to him, all efforts to find her proved abortive that Thursday.

Mallam Jibrin said he received a call on Friday evening that his wife had been found in Sokoto, but she could no longer speak.

He added that the woman still cannot talk but has fully regained her consciousness. They have been communicating fluently through chat.

He said his wife told him through chat that on that Thursday, she just heard someone calling her name, and she opened the door and walked out. That was all she could remember until she found herself in Sokoto.

According to Rabiu, “She said when she got to Sokoto, she met someone from whom she requested a paper and pen, where she was able to narrate the incident to her since she could no longer talk.”

Mallam Jibrin further narrated that it was this person who called him, and he instructed them to take his wife to his relative in Sokoto.

He said his wife is still in Sokoto but still unable to speak, adding that he planned to travel to Sokoto today to bring her back.

A police source at Life Camp confirmed that the incident was reported on Thursday but referred our reporter to the command’s headquarters for details.

Repeated calls put across to the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, were not answered.
