The University of Jos (UNIJOS) has directed the continuation of the 1st semester examinations from Monday, April 13, 2026, following the postponement of some papers due to heightened security tensions in the state.

This follows a management meeting held today, Friday, April 3, 2026, which reviewed the impact of recent threats to students’ safety that prompted the extension of the Easter holidays, reports Vanguard.

According to a statement by the Deputy Registrar, Information and Public Relations, Emmanuel Madugu, all examinations will resume on April 13, starting with those earlier postponed from March 30.

“Students are advised to contact their Faculty Examinations Time Table Officer for further clarification,” the statement added.

Management assured students still on campus of their safety, saying security has been significantly strengthened.

They urged vigilance and immediate reporting of any suspicious activity to the University Security Division.

“Normal university activities are expected to resume from Tuesday, April 7, 2026.”

The statement emphasised that management is collaborating closely with relevant security agencies to ensure no breach of peace is tolerated on campus.
