Troops of the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Malumfashi, in collaboration with operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), have arrested seven suspected drug peddlers during a joint raid in Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Security sources said the operation was conducted at about 5:00 p.m. on April 27 at Kwasu Maguzawa village following intelligence on suspected drug trafficking activities in the area, reports Daily Independent.

The sources disclosed that the suspects were apprehended during the raid, while various illicit substances were recovered from them.

According to the sources, items recovered included 402.5 grams of suspected cannabis sativa, 1.8 grams of tramadol, 1.4 grams of pregabalin, and 6.2 grams of Exol-5 tablets.

They added that the suspects and recovered exhibits have been handed over to the NDLEA for further investigation and prosecution.

The sources noted that the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to curb drug abuse and its link to criminal activities in the region.
