REWARD OR KILL ME – Aggrieved APC supporter protests in Abuja

The FrontierThe FrontierMay 1, 2026 2421 Minutes read0

•The lone protester

A man believed to be a supporter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has sparked reactions online after staging a one-man protest in Abuja, declaring that he had been abandoned despite his sacrifices for the party.

In a now-viral video, the man, dressed in a blue polo shirt, black trousers and a matching blue fez cap, stood alone holding a handwritten banner with bold inscriptions expressing frustration and desperation over his alleged treatment, reports Daily Trust.

The banner read: “All Progressives Congress — Reward me or kill me. I am a party man and not a lunatic. I have lost so much for the party. I am depressed and my health is affected.”

Speaking to bystanders who gathered around him, the protester claimed he had incurred heavy debts while working for the party and was left without compensation or support.

“I sold my house because of the debt I owed due to the work wey I do for APC, and at the end of it, no reward,” he said, in pidgin English.

He further alleged that instead of assistance, he received threats.

“Rather than help, the CSO threatened that they will shoot me and nothing will happen,” he added, without providing further details or verification of the claim.

The man also made an emotional disclosure about his family situation, saying he could no longer cater for his children due to financial hardship.

“Since yesterday, I don’t know where my children are. I dropped them with the CSO and APC because I could no longer take care of them or pay their school fees,” he said.

When pressed by onlookers, the protester pointed to images of APC leaders printed on his T-shirt, insisting they were responsible for his involvement.

“See the people wey send me,” he said, suggesting he had acted on behalf of party figures.

The video has since generated widespread reactions on social media, with many expressing concern over the man’s wellbeing and calling for clarification from party authorities, while others questioned the authenticity of his claims.

As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official response from the APC or individuals mentioned in the protester’s remarks.
