Governor Radda to offer automatic jobs to First-Class graduates

The FrontierThe FrontierJune 22, 2026 550 Minutes read0

•Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State

The Katsina State government has announced automatic employment for indigenes who graduate with First-Class degrees, irrespective of the institution they attended across Nigeria.

The state governor, Dikko Radda, unveiled the expanded policy at the closing ceremony of the maiden Katsina Students’ Week held at Bayero University Kano (BUK), describing the initiative as part of his administration’s commitment to rewarding academic excellence and building a highly skilled workforce for the state.

He revealed that under the previous arrangement, automatic employment was limited to first-class graduates from institutions within Katsina State, reports Daily Trust.

He said the policy has now been broadened to include all Katsina indigenes, who graduate with first-class honours from accredited higher institutions nationwide.

According to him, the initiative is aimed at strengthening the state’s civil service with competent professionals capable of delivering efficient public services and driving development.

He added that his administration had cleared scholarship payment arrears from 2021 to 2026, ensuring uninterrupted support for students.

The announcement was widely welcomed by students and education stakeholders, who described it as a major incentive for academic excellence and a significant boost to youth employment in Katsina State.
