Activists to Nigerian Army: Kill terrorists at once, no excuses

The FrontierThe FrontierNovember 19, 2025 1161 Minutes read0

The death of Brigadier General Uba by terrorists has made human rights advocate, Comrade Ighotegwolor Bezi plead that the federal government should publicly execute any terrorists caught in their operations.

According to him, anyone caught supplying terrorists with arms and ammunition, food, fuel and other items should also be executed.

Bezi opined that, “If this is done, it will strike fear into the people.”

According to him, “It’s because they are being handled with kid gloves, hence they have become emboldened to strike at will.”

Bezi made the call in a chat with our correspondent in Warri.

He said, “These so‑called repentant bandits are the ones sabotaging the efforts of the troops.”

Bezi, however, expressed sadness over the death of Brig. Gen. Uba, saying, “It is very painful and nauseating for this news (death of Brig. Gen. Uba) to spread about.”

He insisted that the Government of the United States of America should not come and help Nigeria in its fight against terrorism in the country.

“Even with the ragtag state of our military, I will still not support the idea of America coming to fight our fight for us,” he stated.

He suggested that military personnel who are natives of the ravaged areas in the North should be made to head the units in those areas with the full support of the vigilantes, Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and other volunteer security outfits.

He noted that, “The military should also arm the vigilantes, CJTF, and other volunteer security outfits with AK rifles. This will surely boost the morale of the volunteer troops and strengthen them to do battle with the insurgents.”

Bezi condoled with the families of the soldiers who died in the ambush by the terrorists.

“The government should not allow them die in vain. The ISWAP, Boko Haram and other Islamic terror groups must be made to face the rage of the people,” he added.
