Afrobeats star Rema sets Mawazine Festival stage on fire after World Cup opening ceremony moment

Days after delivering an incredible performance at the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony in the U.S. alongside LISA, Katy Perry, Anitta, Tyla, and Future, Rema is back in global headlines.

The Nigerian Afrobeats star headlined the Mawazine Festival on the prestigious OLM Souissi stage in Rabat, Morocco, reports Saturday Vanguard.

He shared the bill with superstars like Ninho, Major Lazer, Tyla, Nicky Jam, ITZY, Wael Kfoury, Oumou Sangaré, Sampa The Great, Macy Gray, Imany, and dozens more. Mawazine is ranked among the world’s largest festivals, often compared to Coachella and Glastonbury.

The sold-out concert featured over 90 acts across seven stages and drew more than 3.75 million visitors to the capital.

In viral clips, Rema gave the crowd exactly what they came for. From the first note, the Moroccan audience was locked in. Backed by fire effects, smoke visuals, and a dramatic stage design of towering white pillars, the show marked what looks like the next chapter of his career.

Styled in a graphic-print tee with a fiery, liquid-gold design, dark designer trousers, and bold accessories, Rema opened with his latest hit “HEHEHE,” and “Dumebi” followed by “Woman.” He then shifted into a melodic rendition of “Calm Down,” sending the entire arena to their feet.

That iconic track had everyone dancing in unison. With back-to-back global stages, Rema’s influence on the international music scene keeps climbing.
