Air Peace plane suffers bird strike, aborts Abuja/Lagos bound flight

The FrontierThe FrontierNovember 14, 2024 2850 Minutes read0

Nigeria’s Air Peace airline has confirmed that its 6:30 a.m. flight today from Abuja to Lagos was forcefully aborted due to a bird strike incident.

The incident was disclosed to the public through a post on Facebook by the lawyer to Alaago, Inibehe Effiong, who described how it caused some passengers to panic, reports Nigerian Tribune.

A statement issued by the airline’s Head of Corporate Communications, Dr. Ejike Ndiulo, said: “We wish to inform our esteemed passengers that our 6:30 a.m. Abuja-Lagos flight experienced a bird strike before take-off, prompting a ramp return as a safety measure. All passengers disembarked normally.

“We have deployed a replacement aircraft for the affected flight to minimize disruptions and ensure that passengers continue their journeys promptly. We appeal for the understanding of our valued passengers impacted by this development, as well as those on other flights that may experience delays.

“At Air Peace, we are committed to providing safe, comfortable, and reliable air travel for all our passengers.”
