Arise with the ARISE Agenda: Permanent Secretary tasks Info/PR officers in Akwa Ibom

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Mrs Grace Akpan, has called on Information/ Public Relations Officers in the State Civil Service to arise with the ARISE Agenda blueprint of Governor Umo Eno and brighten every corner they find themselves.

Mrs. Akpan made the call earlier today, while playing host to the Executive and selected members of the State Information Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, who paid her a courtesy visit in her office.

The permanent secretary, also used the occasion, on behalf of her Commissioner, Sir Charles Udoh, to encourage members of the chapel to tap from the vast opportunities that will be made available by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, during Christmas Unplugged Season 0.2, which according to her, will run for 32 days from December 1, 2024 to January 1, 2025.

She expressed her gratefulness to the chairman of the Chapel and members, for the honour done to her stating that, as a member of the union, she will continue to support the union in every possible way.

Earlier in his address during the visit, the Chapel Chairman, Comrade Effiong Edet Esq, said the visit to permanent secretary was expedient, in a bid to congratulate her on her elevation to the peak of her career in the civil service, as a permanent secretary.

He also used the occasion to formally invite the permanent secretary to their upcoming 2024 Chapel Week, which will have her Commissioner, Sir Charles Udoh, as chairman of the occasion, scheduled to begin from Monday, October 28, to Sunday, November 3, 2024, with a Thanksgiving Service at the Church of Christ, Aka Road, Uyo.

The visit was attended by the Director of Administration, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Mr. Mfon Udokang, Vice Chairperson of the State Information Chapel, Comrade Uduak Essien, the Treasurer, Comrade Glory James and the Financial Secretary, Comrade Glory Ekpo, who is also the Zonal Director in charge of Eket Zonal Office of the Ministry of Information.

Others include: the Auditor, Comrade Nsisong Ben, the Chapel Provost, Comrade Grace Bernard as well as the Assistant Director (Information/Public Relations), Comrade Idorenyin Umoh, among others.
