BREAKING: Police summons Organised Labour leader, Joe Ajaero over terrorism charges, others •Threatens arrest

The Police High Command in Abuja has issued an invitation to the President of Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Joe Ajaero, to appear before it tomorrow, Tuesday, August 20, 2024.

The summons dated today, and a copy sighted this evening by The Frontier, is captioned, “Letter of Invitation” issued by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Intelligence Response Team (IRT), Department of Force Intelligence (DFI), FCT Abuja.

The invitation which is currently circulating on various social media platforms is signed by Adamu Mu’azu, an Assistant Commissioner of Police, for the Deputy Commissioner of Police.

The invitation reads, “LETTER OF INVITATION: This office is investigating a case of Criminal Conspiracy, Terrorism Financing, Treasonable Felony, Subversion and Cybercrime in which you were mentioned.

“2. You are therefore invited to interview the undersigned (sic) on Tuesday 20th Aug, 2024 by 10:hrs prompt, at IRT Complex, Old Abattoir by Guzappe Junction, Abuja, through the Team Leader with telephone no 08035179870 in connection with the above investigation.

“3. Please be informed that in the event of failing to honour this letter, this office will have no alternative than to activate a warrant of arrest against you please.

“ACP Adamu S. Mu’azu, Assistant Commissioner of Police, For: Deputy Commissioner of Police, Intelligence Response Team (IRT), Abuja.”

Efforts made by The Frontier to reach the Labour leader was not successful as at press time as his phone was unavailable.
