Child singer speaks on combining education, music

•Tofunmi Ogunseye

A six-year-old gospel singer, Tofunmi Ogunseye, has said that her love for music was influenced by her family and Christian background.

“My Christian background inspired me to express the supremacy of God to deliver us from all our troubles. My message to all listeners is that they should believe in God and trust Him in all things,” she said.

Continuing she said,

“I am allowed to do music only during my leisure time, so that my school work is not affected in any way,” reports Saturday PUNCH.

Ogunseye, who started singing at the age of four, added that her parents encourage and support her and her siblings to showcase their talents from a young age.

She said, “My parents encourage my siblings and I to exhibit our talents. My siblings were also a big support to me in making the song, ‘Deliver Us’, a reality. I will also like to use this opportunity to tell my fans, especially children, to be focused on their areas of positive interest and believe in themselves. If they do that, they can achieve anything.”
