•Tinunu and Oborevwori

The Delta State governor, Sheriff Oborevwori has just briefed President Bola Tinubu on the incident that led to the killing of 16 soldiers in Okuoma community, Ughelli South council area of the state last week.

Governor Oborevwori, who briefed journalists at the State House, after the meeting with President Tinubu, however, said the situation had been brought under control, assuring that perpetrators of the brutal murder of the officers and men of the Nigerian Army in the incident would be tracked and brought to justice.

The governor, who also assured that there would be no more of such attacks in the area, further said that the government would ensure that the innocent do not suffer for the offence committed by criminal elements.

The governor declined casualty figures, saying that being a security issue there are certain things he cannot say in the public.

He said that he met with the security heads in Bomadi yesterday but has been unable to meet with the community involved because the place of the incident is completely deserted.
