A high-powered delegation of Ijaw leaders, led by Prof. Benjamin Okaba, President of the Ijaw National Congress (INC), in a show of respect and tradition, paid a courtesy visit to former President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

The delegation included notable figures. They include Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs as Chairman of the National Burial Committee for the late Pa Dr. Edwin K. Clark, Engr. Ebipamowei Wodu, National Secretary, and Chief Ebikeme Clark, the eldest son of the late Pa Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, reports The Guardian.

The visit was aimed at formally presenting the agreed burial date and planned activities for the late Pa Dr. Clark, a revered Ijaw leader and Grand Commander of the Niger Delta struggle.

The delegation sought Jonathan’s support and blessing, recognising his influential role as a respected leader of the Ijaw people.

During the visit, Okaba introduced the delegation and declared their purpose, after which the Chairman of the National Burial Committee presented a detailed breakdown of the burial plans.

Jonathan, who warmly received the presentation, pledged his unwavering commitment to ensuring Pa Dr. Clark’s final rites are conducted with the respect and dignity he deserves.
