The family of late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo has officially announced the funeral arrangements for the movie star following his tragic death at the age of 40.

In an emotional post shared on the actor’s official Instagram page today, the family described Ekubo as a man whose life was marked by love, generosity, faith and warmth, while thanking fans, friends and colleagues for the overwhelming support received since news of his passing broke.

“Forever in Our Hearts,” the statement began.

“With profound sorrow, yet gratitude to God for a life so beautifully lived and deeply impactful, we officially announce the funeral arrangements of our beloved husband, son, brother, friend, and colleague, Alexx Ekubo-Okwaraeke.”

The family said the outpouring of love, prayers, visits, messages and support during the mourning period had been deeply comforting.

“The overwhelming outpouring of love, prayers, messages, visits, calls, support, and strength shown to the family during this painful period has been truly humbling. Words cannot fully express our gratitude,” the statement read.

“Alexx was deeply loved, and your kindness continues to remind us that his light, compassion, faith, and impact on so many lives will never be forgotten.”

Reflecting on the actor’s life and personality, the family described him as someone who brought joy and warmth everywhere he went.

“Though his passing came far too soon, Alexx lived a life marked by love, warmth, generosity, laughter, and an unwavering devotion to God and the people he cherished.

“His presence filled rooms, lifted hearts, and created memories that will remain with us forever.”

According to the announcement, a service of songs will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at The Monarch Event Center in Lekki, Lagos, from 4pm to 6pm, with guests expected to wear white.

The wake keep is scheduled for Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 7 Ekubo-Okwaraeke Avenue, Aziukwukwa, Ujari Village, Arochukwu, Abia State.

His funeral service will take place on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Mary Slessor School, Amanagwu Village, Arochukwu, Abia State.

The family also invited friends, colleagues, fans and well-wishers to join them in celebrating the actor’s life and legacy.

“We warmly invite family, friends, colleagues, fans, and well wishers to join us as we honor and celebrate his beautiful life, enduring legacy, and the precious memories he gave us all,” the statement added.
