Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and his Oyo State counterpart, Seyi Makinde, have mourned the late Secretary to Ondo State Government, Temitayo Oluwatuyi.

Oluwatuyi died yesterday, about three weeks after being hospitalised following a road accident he had along the Ife-Ibadan Road on December 15, 2024, reports Channels TV.

The Ondo State Government, had while announcing his demise, described Oluwatuyi as a committed politician who made great contributions to the development of the state.

In a statement, Sanwo-Olu commiserated with his Ondo counterpart, Lucky Aiyedatiwa over the death, describing the incident as a great loss.

He also sympathised with the Ondo State Government, the family of the deceased, and the people of Ondo State, offering prayers for strength and comfort during this difficult time.

“The late Hon. Tayo Oluwatuyi was a patriot who gave his all to the service of Ondo State and its people. His contributions to the development of the state will not be forgotten,” the governor said in a statement by his spokesman, Gboyega Akosile.

He also recalled the late Oluwatuyi’s previous role as Chairman of Akure South Local Government Area and as SSG to the late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

Similarly, Governor Makinde said he received the news with pain and shock and extended his condolences to Aiyedatiwa.

“I commiserate with Ondo State Governor, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, on the unfortunate death of the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Tayo Oluwatuyi. I equally express my condolences to the state government, the family of the deceased, and the people of Ondo State,” Makinde said in a statement by his spokesman, Sulaimon Olanrewaju.

“This death is shocking and painful, but we can only submit to the will of God, who gives and takes life. I encourage Governor Aiyedatiwa and the family of Mr. Oluwatuyi to be strong and courageous. It is my prayer that God will grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.”
