•Governor Seyi Makinde

Oyo State Government has assured citizens and residents of the State of its commitment to peaceful coexistence and safety of lives and property of its people.

This was disclosed in a release by the office of the Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, following a recent incident of the death of some grazing cows, allegedly poisoned in Ologolo, Alafara area in Ido Local Government Area of the state.

The commissioner for information said the notice was brought forward to the government by residents of the area and relevant authorities promptly sprung into action to douse tension in the area to prevent any form of communal clash between Fulani herdsmen and residents of the community, reports Daily Independent.

Prince Oyelade applauded the efforts of the Amotekun Corps, Operation Burst, and the Nigeria Police Force throughout the period of the incident.

He said the police have already engaged Fulani leaders and Yoruba community in the area and security operatives are on vigilant alert 24 hours of the day to maintain law and order.

He urged residents of the community to continue with their daily engagements without fear or worry as the situation is under control.
